Eureka Entertainment to re-release MAID MARIAN AND HER MERRY MEN, the must-see comedy drama starring Tony Robinson (Blackadder, Time Team) and Danny John-Jules (Red Dwarf), in a limited edition (3000 copies) DVD boxset on 21 November 2016. MAID MARIAN AND HER MERRY MEN was consistently number 1 in the children’s TV ratings throughout its four series, partly because it was popular with children of all ages, but also because it became “must see” viewing for students and young adults. It was popular with the critics too, winning a BAFTA, an RTS Award and the International Prix Jeunesse. This perfectly conceived historical farce is witty, warm and stylish. An excellent cast and faultless writing has drawn comparisons to Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and The Young Ones. It is one of those rare programmes made for and enjoyed by both children and adults and has secured a huge fan-base in the twenty-seven years since the first series was initially transmitted. Written by and starring Tony Robinson as the Sherriff of Nottingham, Tony has been a regular on our TV screens since he got his big break playing Baldrick in Blackadder. Contained in slim-line packaging with outer slipcase, all four series of Maid Marian and her Merry Men are featured alongside a compendium booklet by the artist Paul Cemmic (who did the graphics for the original series) released on DVD by Eureka Entertainment on 21 November 2016.

This third collection of Dixon of Dock Green features the complete 22nd series of the much-loved policing drama, the last series ever made. Featuring some of the strongest writing in the series’ history, having been a fixture on TV screens since 1955, it drew to a close in the spring of 1976 with head held high, it’s badge of service untarnished. This final series finds Sgt. George Dixon (Jack Warner) operating from the back office as Collator for Dock Green, tracking, guiding and advising on events in the criminal underworld as they impacted on the otherwise peaceful ‘manor’ of Dock Green. Meanwhile on the front line, Detective Sgt. Alan Bruton (Richard Heffer), is ably supported by the likes of DC Len Clayton (Ben Howard), Sgt. Johnny Wills (Nicholas Donnelly), DS Mike Brewer (Gregory De Polnay) and PC Harry Dunne(Stephen Marsh) all of whom can be seen or heard in a unique collection of original interviews which are also featured on this release.
Greg Davies, acclaimed stand-up comedian, Mr Gilbert in the hit TV series and film The Inbetweeners, and BAFTA-nominated star of Cuckoo, writes and stars in this new series which also features 2010 Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer winner, Roisin Conaty (Impractical Jokers), Rik Mayall (The Young Ones), Deirdre Mullins (Whitechapel), 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Mike Wozniak (Live At The Electric), Gwyneth Powell (Grange Hill) and Jeany Spark (Wallander). This new sitcom introduces Dan (Greg Davies), a childish idiot trapped in an adult’s life. Crushing character flaws, an unwanted teaching job, uniquely dysfunctional friends and a willfully insane Dad conspire to keep this Man Down. Dan’s world is at near collapse, his girlfriend Naomi (Deidre Mullins) is fast running out of patience with his inability to navigate the simplest of life tasks, while his best friends are Jo (Rosin Conaty) who has, what can only be described as, the loosest of grasp on reality and Brian (Mike Wozniak), a straight-laced financial adviser who is regularly dumbfounded by the complete idiocy of his two friends. To compound matters Dan’s listless teaching career sees him begrudgingly teach a version of the same lesson every day, inexplicably popular with all but one of the pupils, with his only highlight coming in the form of Miss Lipsey (Jeany Spark), a head mistress who views Dan with a mixture of pity and despair. Tormented daily by his father (Rik Mayall) whose driving motivation in life seems to be to ensure his son is humiliated at every turn, not to mention regularly physically attacked, does so while keeping it almost completely under the radar of his wife and Dan’s mum (Gwyneth Powell).
